New housing springing up in NewBo clearly has inadequate backup water storage capabilities when compared to the Water Tower Place condos, according to WTP Homeowners Association President Lance Ossing.
“I mean, look, it’s pitiful,” said Ossing during the recent WTP Homeowners Association annual meeting. “They might have new kitchens, efficient appliances and the kind of energy-efficient building envelopes that you don’t find in warehouses, but what are they going to do if they run out of water? What kind of building developer builds without backup water storage?”
When asked by resident Susan Knope if there actually is any water in the building’s 100,000-gallon-capacity tower following its 1943 decommissioning, Ossing said he would have the building manager look into it.
