The city of Cedar Rapids expressed sadness yesterday that native son Elijah Wood never calls or returns texts anymore.
Following his international acting fame through roles such as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Cedar Rapids native apparently moved on from his hometown.
“It’s a bit sad,” the city said. “Now that he’s a big star, he apparently doesn’t have time to just touch base to let us know how he’s doing, what he’s watching, or if he even thinks of us. Every year we bake his favorite banana custard, hoping he’ll stop by, but he never does.”
The city said it tries to console itself with regular visits from fellow native Ashton Kutcher, but it isn’t the same.
“Jeez, he always wants us to invest in his companies,” the city said.
